The 18-Walled Room of Story
The 18 Walled Room of Story explores our society’s fascination and obsession with story. The viewer speaks the lines printed on the video through a microphone and hears Story’s response. With Steve Burns (the original Steve from Blue’s Clues) playing Story the viewer has an eerie experience of simultaneous endearment and repulsion by the Story.
Raw material is drawn from Be Story Free, a play by Inverse Theater. With dancers Troy Ogilvie, Carson Reiners, and Luke Murphy, text by Kirk Wood Bromley, voice by Steve Burns, and musical arrangement by John Gideon.
